Anti-Discrimination Agency of the State of Schleswig-Holstein
Short presentation
Since January 2013, the Anti-Discrimination Agency of the State of Schleswig-Holstein has existed, under the direction of the Ombudsman for Social Affairs of the State
Schleswig-Holstein. The Anti-Discrimination Agency is located at the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament and is independent and not bound by instructions.
The Anti-Discrimination Agency operates on the basis of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).
We provide advice and support in cases of disadvantage or discrimination. Our goal is also to raise awareness of the General Equal Treatment Act. Furthermore, we are committed to a discrimination-free culture in Schleswig-Holstein and to fair opportunities for all people in our state.
The task of the Anti-Discrimination Agency of the State of Schleswig-Holstein is to provide individual support to people who experience discrimination due to
• ethnic origin
• gender
• religion or belief
• a disability
• age or
• sexual identity
have experienced.
We advise those affected independently and free of charge about the claims and legal options in individual cases, refer them to other agencies or advocate for a
amicable settlement.
In addition to providing advice on individual cases, educating and raising public awareness about all forms of discrimination is a key task. If you are an organization or institution interested in this topic, please feel free to contact us.
We also offer legal advice and training for citizens, companies, associations and authorities.
