Awareness in the event sector

Date: 21.01.2025 at 18: 00 - 20:00 Cost: join for

What is awareness actually and what added value does the concept have for events?

Social power relations also have an impact in the context of events. The consequences are that visitors, organizers, employees and artists can experience boundary violations, (sexualized) violence and discriminatory exclusion. Awareness is a practice of solidarity that provides affected people with appropriate structures to support them when they experience discrimination.

On January 21.01.2025, 18 from 00:20 p.m. to 00:381 p.m. we invite event organizers of all kinds to 41 (Friedrich-Wilhelm-Straße XNUMX, Braunschweig) to find out more about the topic of awareness. We have various speakers on stage with experience of awareness structures at events.

In short lectures with the opportunity for questions, the following topics will be addressed:

– Introduction to Awareness Structures: Basics and the importance of awareness in the event industry
– Practical application: How can awareness structures be used at events to create a safe and respectful environment for all guests.
– Benefits for the event: What positive effects can a strong awareness culture have on visitor satisfaction?

The event is free and no registration is required.

Online expert exchange: Strengthening state anti-discrimination laws! Exchange, strategies, networking

Six years after Berlin's State Anti-Discrimination Act (LADG) came into force, Rhineland-Palatinate has become the next German state to pass a similar law: the "State Law for Equal Opportunities, Democracy and Diversity (LCDV)." A draft law is also currently under consideration in North Rhine-Westphalia and is going through the parliamentary process. In Baden-Württemberg, however, a long-standing political process – despite a broad civil society alliance – has failed for the time being. And in Lower Saxony, an alliance for an LADG was recently formed, also supported by anti-discrimination activists. So there's a lot happening…

Using concrete practical examples, we will address key questions, such as: Which legal foundations and regulations are particularly important? How can different dimensions of discrimination – including those beyond those protected by the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) – be defined and enshrined? We will also discuss…

Principles of the AGG

The General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) provides a central legal framework for protection against discrimination in the workplace. At the same time, discrimination in the workplace manifests itself not only in individual incidents but also in organizational routines, structures, and power relations. This workshop combines an introduction to the fundamentals of the AGG with a critical perspective on power dynamics in organizations. Participants will learn to understand the scope and limitations of the AGG in the workplace and to recognize discrimination both legally and from a critical perspective on power dynamics. The workshop will cover…

Basic training on digital files

In this training, we would like to introduce the basic functions of the new digital file. How do I create contacts? How do I create cases? How do I keep track of my cases? How do I document the consultation process? How does co-consultation work? How do I (co-)manage case documents? How can I evaluate them?
