Birth preparation course for queers in Frankfurt am Main

Date: 05.10.2024 at 10: 00 - 17:00

Flyer "Birth Preparation Course for Queers" in Frankfurt am Main

With our course offerings, we want to create a sensitive and safe space for queer pregnant women. It is particularly important to us to support pregnant people and their families individually and in a needs-oriented manner. In addition, it is a matter close to our hearts that all people during pregnancy, during childbirth and in the postpartum period are well informed and radically cared for. In addition to mental and physical preparation for birth and the postpartum period, there will be space for exchanging ideas about queer parenthood/queer family life. All queer pregnant women with and without partners, as well as pregnant women with companions, of whom at least one person identifies as queer, are welcome to the course. The costs for pregnant people are covered by the health insurance company. The companion pays a participation fee of €150. This is partially covered by some health insurance companies. The event is sponsored by the Office for Multicultural Affairs - AmkA.

Basic module: Understanding discrimination and intersectionality

In this workshop, we will examine fundamental and current phenomena of discrimination. In addition to reflecting on various dimensions of discrimination, we will discuss intersectionality as an analytical approach in comparison to multiple discrimination and its relevance to counseling practice. A particular focus will be on the recognizability of racism and its normalization in society. Note: Participation in…

Peer case consultation with a focus on discrimination and intersectionality

In peer case consultation, participants directly apply what they have learned to their own counseling practice. This format involves discussing and reflecting on current cases from everyday counseling work. The sessions are led by an experienced expert in anti-discrimination counseling who supports participants in developing concrete courses of action, incorporating the module content. Peer case consultation (legal)

Peer Case Consultation (Law) – Reimagined: Flexible, Immediate & Practical. You know the feeling: Your daily work as a consultant is packed, and there's no time for extensive case preparation. That's why we've revamped the format of our legal peer case consultation. It now takes the form of a legal consultation session with two parts. Only one of these parts requires a prior (brief) case description and preparation by the consultants. This new format offers experienced consultants an excellent opportunity to address your legal issues quickly and practically…
