What does intersectionality mean?

Date: 22.05.2024 at 10: 00 - 12:00

At our final event “Beyond AGG Reform” on the occasion of the anniversary of the AGG coming into force on August 18.08.24, XNUMX, we would like to discuss what other measures are needed - in addition to the reform of the AGG - to put anti-discrimination into practice. Together with Nathalie Schlenzka (Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency), we would like to look at the role and impact of state equal treatment offices and, in particular, discuss the (im)possibilities of promoting anti-discrimination advice centers and supporting those affected. Saraya Gomis will tell us about her experience as former State Secretary for Anti-Discrimination in Berlin and the success and failure of anti-discrimination processes in institutions. She will also discuss what institutional framework she would have needed during her term of office in order to be able to fully fulfill her role.
